Chong Hua Hospital is looking to hire an experienced and highly motivated Business Process Improvement Specialist is responsible in identifying and improving the outcomes of Chong Hua Hospital’s operational processes to improve efficiencies, reduce cost and increase customer satisfaction.
S/He is also responsible in the deployment of the basic and some advanced lean management tools across all parts of the organization. As an agent of change, the Specialist will serve as a catalyst to create a culture that continuously strives for operational excellence and embraces the principles of process improvement.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Lean Management Deployment
- Participates in the implementation of lean management programs all throughout the organization.
- Champions the deployment of the basic and some advanced lean management tools and techniques.
- Participates in the development of the business process transformation vision and strategies.
- Tracks and monitors effectiveness of lean management tools deployment and metrics; recommend and implement changes as needed to ensure business objectives are met.
- Participates in the design and implementation of appropriate lean management tools and techniques.
- Develops and delivers operational excellence training modules and lean education programs to the organization.
Project Management and Communication
- Liaises and coordinates with departments on the status of projects to ensure that projects are identified, prioritized, and implemented in a timely and effective manner.
- Assists in facilitating the sharing of best practices across different departments throughout the whole organization (e.g. brainstorming processes – identifying and collating of data, identifying the best practice given the project focus then prioritization of its implementation).
- Facilitates the identification, understanding, and improvement of process issues by using appropriate quantitative and qualitative tools.
- Participates in the project selection process and identification of opportunities for improvement across all levels of the organization.
- Performs regular review and monitoring on the status of business process improvement projects from different departments to coach on its implementation and appropriateness of tools and techniques used for optimum results.
- Spearheads an improvement initiative or problem-solving process project that is aligned with the core purpose and vision of the organization.
- Implements effective project management tools and techniques to make sure project initiatives are completed on time and within budget. Coordinates and collaborates with the Financial Analysts and Internal Audit Specialists on the financial aspects of the project.
- Communicates with the staff and management on ways of implementing the plans and the recommendations that they come up with.
- Collaborates with department leaders and staff in the effective deployment and implementation of lean management tools and techniques.
- Attends monthly committee meetings and actively participates in the discussion providing recommendations to enhance the over-all business processes.
Monitoring of Quality Indicators
- Conducts data analysis on the assigned quality indicator(s) classified as the Hospital’s priorities in terms of quality Required Clinical Monitors, Required Administrative Monitors, IPSG Monitors, and provide effective recommendations to improve the levels of quality of the organization.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Nursing, or other clinical discipline required.  A Masters degree a plus.Â
- With at least three (3) years of relevant work experience in Process Improvement using Lean and Six Sigma is required Â
- Healthcare industry experience is a plus. Â
- Certified or has gained practical experience in:Â
- Lean – Six Sigma MethodologyÂ
- Practical Problem Solving ProcessÂ
- Experienced and a passionate process improvement leader and educator (formal or informal), with proven problem solving experience. Demonstrated understanding of basic corporate office software, including Microsoft Office 365 applications. Â
- Good communication skills. Proficiency in the Visayan dialect and/or Tagalog is required; ability to communicate well in English is an advantage.Â
