Chong Hua Hospital Cebu City now offers Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), an advanced service that combines endoscopy and high-resolution ultrasound to provide detailed images of the digestive tract and nearby organs.

EUS helps doctors take a closer look at areas such as the pancreas, bile ducts and gallbladder, liver, esophagus and stomach, surrounding lymph nodes, and subepithelial lesions.

What Can Endoscopic Ultrasound Do?

Aside from detailed imaging, EUS also helps doctors perform selected procedures when needed.

EUS-guided procedures include tissue sampling for suspicious abnormalities, helping determine the stage of cancer, and aspirating or draining fluid from cysts that are causing symptoms or obstruction.

Other selected interventions may also be performed depending on the patient’s condition.

During consultation, the patient will receive the necessary preparation instructions, pre-procedure requirements, and other relevant information.

The physician’s clinic will then coordinate the procedure schedule with the Chong Hua Hospital Endoscopy Unit.
