Benevola Foundation Extends Relief Assistance to Over 100 Fire-Affected Families in Cebu City

More than 100 families affected by the September 18 fire in Sitio Lawis, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, received relief assistance from Benevola de Cebu Foundation Inc. (BDCFI) through its Ready Together! Program under the foundation’s Resilience Pillar.

The relief distribution, held on October 6, 2026, benefited families temporarily staying at the Viking Gym evacuation center in Sitio Viking, Barangay Mambaling, as well as other affected residents. Each family received relief packages containing essential food items and hygiene kits to help address their immediate needs.

Additional assistance included bath towels and medicines donated by BDCFI’s partners, which were also distributed to affected families.

Barangay officials and beneficiaries expressed their appreciation for the assistance, acknowledging the support provided as they begin recovering from the fire and rebuilding their homes.

“Regardless of the amount of assistance we received from the Foundation, we are very grateful for the donations given to us. These will help us in our recovery,” said Roselyn Cardello, one of the residents affected by the fire.

Through its Ready Together! Program, BDCFI remains committed to providing timely assistance to disaster-affected communities, helping families address their immediate needs and supporting their recovery following emergencies and disasters.
