Chong Hua Hospital is looking to hire an Ancillary Service Technician provides assistance in performing procedures and patient care activities in accordance with the regulations, standards and policies of the department / hospital under the direct supervision of the Department Manager / Head Nurse.
S/He assists the healthcare team in providing support and guidance to the patient as well as their family members. S/He prepares the procedure room as well as the machines or equipment needed for examinations / procedures, and ensures the patient’s safety and comfort by explaining the details of the exam / procedure.
S/he maintains the inventory of the unit by organizing, preparing, and requesting materials for the unit’s use, and performs after care / routine maintenance of the unit’s rooms / equipment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Inspects whether the consent forms and all other related forms pertinent to the procedure have been completely filled out;
Ensures that procedure rooms are ready prior to every procedure; prepares and sets up the exam room as well as the machines / equipment needed for the procedure.
Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures; explains the details of the procedure.
Protects the patient’s sensitivities and right to privacy.
Escalates problems or issues pertaining to patient / processes to the appropriate channels for proper resolution.
Oversees that cleanliness of the unit is maintained
Observes the procedures in the proper disposal of used or contaminated linens.
Observes the proper use of personal protective equipment(s).
Performs after care / cleaning of equipment and instruments as well as the procedure room upon completion of exams / procedures.
Assists in maintaining the inventory of supplies and medications of the unit; responsible for ensuring the availability of all tools, materials, supplies, etc. needed for his/her function; provides assistance in requisition of needed materials / stocks as necessary and informs the immediate superior regarding low stock level supplies / materials for replenishment.
Monitors the working condition of all equipment in the unit; documents repairs / maintenance work needed and alerts the section manager / supervisor of such.
Qualifications
A graduate of a two (2) year college course, preferably a medical-related field OR a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Midwifery / Nursing Aide course OR a graduate of vocational course in Caregiving with NC II Certification from TESDA.
With at least one (1) year of relevant work experience.
Possesses excellent patient care knowledge and ability.
Possesses a current Heart Savers certification.
Excellent customer / patient relation skills.
Good communication skills, both oral and written. Proficiency in the Visayan dialect and/or Tagalog is required; ability to communicate in English is an advantage.
