贝内沃拉基金会携手崇华医药中心,以文化与健康的方式庆祝中秋佳节

CEBU CITY – Benevola de Cebu Foundation Inc. (BDCFI), in collaboration with Chong Hua Medical Mall, celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival on September 24, 2026, through a series of activities highlighting Chinese culture, heritage, and wellness.

Organized as part of BDCFI’s Culture and Heritage Pillar, the celebration brought together guests and participants to appreciate Chinese traditions through interactive cultural activities, a health education forum, and a traditional Tai Chi performance.

“The Mid-Autumn Festival is a tradition that celebrates family, togetherness, gratitude and well-being. These are values that remain meaningful across generations and communities,” said BDCFI Executive Director Wilhelm Wade A. Eusores in his welcome remarks.

Throughout the celebration, guests participated in interactive booths and activities designed to deepen their appreciation of Chinese culture and traditions.

“What happened today is that we conducted activity booths, including Qiaopi or Love Letter Writing, where participants can post messages to MedMall or to someone they love,” said Chong Hua Medical Mall General Manager Malou Orenza, highlighting one of the activities featured during the event.

Among the highlights was BDCFI’s Qiaopi Message Wall, where participants shared personal messages and wishes and received a commemorative Qiaopi Card as a souvenir.

The activity drew inspiration from the historical practice of Qiaopi, which combined personal correspondence and financial remittances sent by overseas Chinese migrants to their families in China during the 19th and 20th centuries. Through this activity, BDCFI introduced participants to an important aspect of Chinese migrant history while encouraging meaningful personal connections.

Complementing the cultural activities was a lay forum on acupuncture, providing participants with insights into traditional Chinese medicine and its approach to health and well-being.

“Chinese medicine, sees the body, the mind and spirit as interconnected,” shared Dr. Lance To Chip during the forum.

Guests also witnessed a Tai Chi performance led by practitioner Sidney Ngo, showcasing the traditional Chinese practice that combines controlled movements, balance, and mindfulness.

Through the celebration, BDCFI and Chong Hua Medical Mall provided an opportunity for participants to reconnect with Chinese cultural traditions while promoting awareness of health and wellness.

The collaboration reflects BDCFI’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage and creating opportunities for communities to appreciate traditions that continue to connect generations.
