Chong Hua Hospital is hiring an experienced and dynamic Ancillary Service Technician who provides support to the healthcare team in
performing patient care and routine procedures such as hygiene, care and transport of patients, care of febrile patients, patient/materials, transport equipment, conducting fall prevention rounds, facilitating safety and infection control as well as admission and discharge processes.
S/He adheres to the standard procedures in the documentation of materials, instruments and equipment that are used in the unit; as well as in transporting materials and specimens.
S/he contributes to the maintenance of a safe and hygienic environment by ensuring the order and cleanliness of the unit and relevant equipment, as well as performing other duties as directed by immediate superior.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performs accurate and timely documentation as required.
  • Prepares and submits all required reports / documents as assigned.
  • Responsible for keeping his/her workplace clean and organized.
  • Escalates or informs the immediate superior regarding low stock level supplies / materials for replenishment.
  • Responsible for assuring the availability of all tools and materials needed for his/her function.
  • Relays any information or provides suggestions to his/her immediate superior regarding any issues / concerns in the practice of his/her function in order to continuously improve the quality of service in the unit.
  • Recommends implementable innovations and improvements in the practice of his/her functions.
  • Immediately informs her/his immediate superior of any and all deviations from standards within the same day of the incident.
  • May be requested to train and mentor junior personnel and tasked to provide performance assessment of staff.
  • Provides support to the unit within his/her level in addressing the needs or queries of internal/external customers.
  • Maintains the effective and efficient execution of his/her tasks and responsibilities by ensuring consistent compliance with existing protocols, guidelines, processes, procedures, standards, etc. of the division, department, unit, and hospital.
  • Assists the staff nurses in performing routine and special patient care procedures.
  • Prepares the patient’s room for admission.
  • Changes bed linens daily and as needed; manages linens in the unit in coordination with the linen section.
  • Assists in patient activities of daily living (ADL’s) including Bathing, Perineal Care, Feeding (Oral), Personal hygiene including (Oral Care), Toileting, Ambulating, Grooming, Transfer of Patients.
  • Carries out proper aftercare following every after procedure.
  • Transports patient safely, observing privacy, to and from the unit for procedures and utilizing the appropriate equipment, paraphernalia, and proper transporting technique.
  • Assists and accompanies patients for discharge to hospital lobby as needed.
  • Identifies patient’s needs and changes in condition and refers to nursein –charge accordingly and promptly.
  • Assists the healthcare team in the health education and discharge planning of patient/significant others.
  • Implements fall rounding to patients identified as high risk for fall.
  • Responds to patients call/ requests appropriately and promptly.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the unit, procedure / patient rooms, and nurses’ station.
  • Observes the procedures in the proper disposal of used or contaminated linens.
  • Ensures that machines, equipment, and devices in the unit are properly cleaned, disinfected, organized before and after use.
  • Assist the doctor perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Facilitates the requisition, audit, inventory, and disposal of unit equipment/ materials needed for procedures such as instruments, supplies, linens.
  • Assists in cost containment through appropriate requests and conserving supplies and equipment.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or requested by immediate superior or management from time to time.
  • Has completed at least two (2) years of college education OR a senior high school
    graduate.
  • With at least 3 to 5 years of related experience; follows general instructions or
    procedures to accomplish tasks. Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
  • Has a very good sense of customer service.
  • Must be knowledgeable on the basic Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good communication skills. Proficiency in the Visayan dialect and/or Tagalog is required; ability to communicate in English is an advantage.
