Chong Hua Hospital is looking to hire a Linen Attendant who will be responsible for the timely collection and segregation of linens from all patient care and special care units in compliance with infection control standards. The attendant ensures that the hospital’s policies, systems, procedures, and standards are understood and applied at the operational levels in a shift.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Complies with Lost and Found procedures.
Periodically submits a physical inventory count of all Linens within the hospital.
Assists in the checking, receiving and counting of linens at the washing facility.
Counts and releases linens to all PCU’s and special care units per the Request Slip.
Verifies the details on the Daily Monitoring Sheet report with regards to the number of soiled linens picked up by the washing facility versus the clean linens delivered / returned to the hospital by the washing facility.
Collects soiled linens from covered carts from the hampers located at the soiled linen room / utility room of PCU’s in the different floors of the hospital per the designated schedule.
Transports soiled linen to the linen segregation area, and grossly soiled linen in yellow liners to decontamination for processing.
Carries out the sorting, counting, and bundling of soiled linens in time for the laundry provider to collect and transport them to the washing facility.
Regularly cleans soiled linen carts using the appropriate disinfectant.
Observes the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment when carrying out duties.
Checks maintenance requirements in the linen room, linen segregation and informs the Environmental Services / Maintenance Department for appropriate action.
Qualifications
A graduate of any two year course, or has completed at least (2) years of College education OR a High School level with at least two (2) years of any work experience.
Has experience in hotel/hospital linen laundry or housekeeping preferred.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Good communication skills. Proficiency in the Visayan dialect and/or Tagalog is required; ability to communicate in English is an advantage.
