Chong Hua Hospital is looking to hire an experienced and highly dynamic Housekeeping Services Specialist who is responsible for providing support to Housekeeping & Linen Management supervisors in the routine upkeep and sanitation of patient rooms, special areas, offices and other areas of the hospital building; and in the collection, distribution, appropriate handling of linen.  

S/He supports the operations of the department by following established protocol, policies and procedures, and is responsible for coordinating with applicable concerned persons / teams in the conduct of her / his duty. 

Additionally, s/he stringently observes hospital rules and regulations, infection control standards and performs other duties to ensure the health and safety of the hospital’s patients, customers, visitors, staff, and other service providers.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Monitors and inspects all maintenance requirements in the building and informs the Housekeeping & Linen Manager / Facilities & Maintenance Department for appropriate action. 

  • Ensures that all assets used in the department are organized, utilized, and stored properly; facilitates inventory management, routine audits, and quality inspections as necessary. 

  • Monitors, evaluates and ensures that all department activities and practices are at par with quality standards 

  • Adheres to the proper endorsement procedure of each shift. 

  • Monitors room vacancy and discharges in order to facilitate patient admission. 

  • Monitor daily cleaning of patient rooms, storage areas, offices and common areas as assigned by the Housekeeping & Linen contracted staff according to the standards and procedures of the hospital. 

  • Monitors the shift checklist of patient room cleaning for proper tracking and completion of tasks. 

  • Participates in the continuous quality improvement of service, safety procedures and activities. 

  • Performs accurate and timely documentation as required. 

  • Prepares and submits all required reports / documents as assigned. 

  • Relays any information or provides suggestions to his/her immediate superior regarding any issues / concerns in the practice of his/her function in order to continuously improve the quality of service in the unit. 

  • Recommends implementable innovations and improvements in the practice of his/her functions. 

  • May be requested to train and mentor junior personnel and tasked to provide performance assessment of staff. 

  • Provides support to the unit within his/her level in addressing the needs or queries of internal/external customers. 

  • Performs other related duties as may be assigned or requested by the immediate superior or management from time to time 

  • A graduate of any four (4) year course or, must have completed at least (2) years of College education with one to two (1-2) years of relevant work experience in housekeeping and/or linen management.  

  • Preferably with exposure to International Healthcare Accreditation standards.  

  • Excellent customer service skills.  

  • Knowledgeable in basic Microsoft Office application.  

  • Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written. Preferably, can communicate in Visayan and Tagalog language.
