Chong Hua Hospital is looking to hire a dynamic and experienced Civil Engineer (under Building, Equipment Maintenance and Projects) who is responsible for overseeing a variety of facilities engineering projects and work activities directed towards effective and efficient delivery of all facilities engineering related projects, installations and maintenance depending on the area of assignment. The incumbent takes charge for all incoming and ongoing construction works and preventive maintenance schedules and may be assigned to manage and oversee the Engineering stockroom for efficient flow of spare parts and materials. S/He ensures compliance to all operational safety standards and practices during the project design and implementation. Â

In addition, s/he plans and organizes monitoring and evaluation of projects to ensure the uniformity, reliability, adequacy and budget compliance. S/He coordinates with other departments and/or service providers for the scheduling and implementation of these projects; also coordinates with Sr. Facilities Supervisor, Facilities & Engineering Manager and Engineering AVP for major concerns and issues that may occur within the project or within the work area for its immediate resolution. Â

S/He is assigned to mentor new team members or the facilities technicians for efficient execution of their tasks. S/He provides technical guidance to direct ports to ensure quality of service delivery. S/He may be assigned in a special project that aims to improve some specific areas of service for the organization, e.g. business continuity plan.Â
Job Duties & Responsibilities
-  Provides analysis and calculations, dimensions, project drawings, designs concept, sketches, etc. to incorporate in the final drawings in project plans; ensures that all technical aspect of the plan are in accordance to local and national building codes and hospital standards; includes estimates and Bill of Quantities in preparation for the project bidding; identifies Scope of Work and in-house project timelines; plans and organizes field inspections of on-going projects, installations, and other areas of facilities services to ensure quality, timeliness and continuity of service; monitors and evaluates project status to ensure that all structural and functional requirements are fulfilled. Â
- Develops and maintains preventive maintenance schedule, procedure and work instructions for its smooth implementations. Oversees the implementation of facilities equipment’s preventive maintenance conducted by the equipment vendor and reviews preventive maintenance reports submitted.Â
- Prepares reports and data on facilities equipment’s depreciation including the depletion of hospital facilities’ equipment. Â
- May be assigned in a project that aims to improve some specific areas of service for the organization either working independently or with a cross-functional team, e.g. planning and implementation of business continuity plan, etc. May be tasked to make necessary recommendations on performance of team members or cross-functional team member.Â
- Responds to all major incidents, calamities and/or disaster and all activities involved based on emergency response policies and guidelines.  Â
- Coordinates with other disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, electrical, etc., end-users, department leaders and/or service providers in the implementation and accomplishment of projects; communicates with the immediate superior or the Manager for Facilities and Engineering any technical issues or concerns beyond his/her scope in a timely manner.  Â
- Participates in the continuous quality improvement of service, safety procedures and activities. Â
- Provides analyses on processes, policies and procedures based on research or gathered data. Â
- Participates in the creation of or recommends updates and changes in the policies and procedures to continuously improve the quality of service in the unit/area, e.g. management of monthly consumption on gas, water, electricity, etc. Â
- Analyzes and interprets engineering documents, such as, but not limited to blueprints, electrical single line diagrams, applications, etc. Provides advice to facilities personnel on how to accomplish the project as required by these documents.  Â
- Investigates, analyzes and recommends solutions to internal clients’ complaints; recommends appropriate action for resolution. Informs or updates immediate superior regarding any irregularities or challenges. Â
Qualifications
- Graduate of any Engineering course preferably in Civil. Â
- With at least three (3) years related work experience in related field.Â
- With strong background in civil and architectural designs.Â
- Capable to do designs using latest version of AutoCAD.  Â
- Experience in the repair and maintenance of bio-medical equipment is an advantage. Â
- Good customer service and interpersonal skills.Â
- Possesses leadership qualities to aid in building, maintaining, and elevating relationships with CHH internal and external stakeholders and drive the achievement of business strategies and results.Â
- Above average computer and systems knowledge (MS Office, Paint, Photoshop, Excel and Outlook)Â
- Good English communication skills, both oral and written. Can speak the Visayan dialect and/or Tagalog.
