Chong Hua Hospital is looking to hire a dynamic Finance Supervisor for Compliance and Taxation who is responsible in overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations. S/he ensures the tax filings accuracy and timeliness and reinforces appropriate control policies. S/he maintains financial integrity, supports compliance efforts, and mitigates risks within the organization.

Additionally, s/he has a solid background in general accounting, competent in tax regulations, and has a vital role in uploading the highest standards of integrity and accountability in daily operations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervises daily accounting operations, including journal entries, general ledger, and period-end closing.
  • Ensures timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
  • Prepares and reviews bank reconciliations and ledger account schedules.
  • Ensures timely preparation and filing of tax returns (e.g., income tax, VAT, withholding tax).
  • Monitors tax regulation changes and assess their impact.
  • Coordinates with external tax consultants and auditors.
  • Prepares documentation and respond to tax audit inquiries.
  • May be assigned in a project that aims to improve specific areas working independently or with a cross-functional team. May be tasked to make necessary recommendations on performance of team members or cross-functional team member.
  • Prepares and analyses pertinent data as required by his/her immediate superior or the management.
  • Recommends changes and updates in processes, policies, procedures or standards in the department to improve quality of service.
  • May be tasked to lead cross-functional team to deliver projects or special tasks designed to improve specific areas of services in the hospital such as, but not limited to, process improvement, review of policies, etc.
  • Leads or directs the team or creates functional team to identify performance gaps and formulate strategic interventions to continuously improve on identified areas for improvement, when required
  • Oversees the development and placement of safety strategies and continuous quality improvement of service initiatives in the department.
  • Supervises all unit personnel; accomplishes all human resource objectives such as, but not limited to Selecting, Assigning of tasks, Coaching, Counselling, Disciplining staff, Communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring & appraising job contribution.
  • Guides employee actions by implementing and updating department’s policies, procedures, methods and guidelines;
  • Plans, develops, implements and facilitates the timely follow through of the technical training and professional enhancement of direct reports; ensures that they are able to gain the technical knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently perform their duties in order to gain career progression within Chong Hua Hospital.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or requested by immediate superior or management from time to time.
  • Mentors and/or trains the junior members of the unit to ensure proper cascading and/or learning of technical know-how and soft skills that contribute to the achievement of the unit’s objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accountancy.
  • At least three (3) years of relevant work experience and leadership role in accounting, tax, and/or audit.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of tax laws, accounting standards, internal control frameworks, and systems implementation.
  • Has the ability to build reports and automation of existing working files.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and digital compliance tools is an advantage.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Navision) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic corporate office software, including Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Good communication skills. Proficiency in the Visayan dialect and/or Tagalog is required; ability to communicate well in English is an advantage
