Chong Hua Hospital Joins Earth Day 2026 Celebration
Chong Hua Hospital proudly joins the global Earth Day 2026 celebration from April 22 to 24, reaffirming its commitment to environmental protection, sustainability, and workplace safety. Anchored on the theme “Our Power, Our Planet,” the hospital is rolling out meaningful activities that encourage employees to actively participate in climate action, waste reduction, and energy conservation.
Environmental exhibits are currently open to employees, providing an engaging space to explore and deepen awareness of pressing environmental concerns. These exhibits highlight the hospital’s ongoing efforts in environmental protection and preservation while integrating Health and Safety awareness to reinforce safe and sustainable workplace practices.
Employees are also encouraged to participate in eco-friendly games and contests that promote creative solutions for reducing plastic waste and strengthening environmental consciousness. These activities are providing valuable learning opportunities facilitated by the Health and Safety Team, focusing on practical workplace safety and sustainability practices.
In support of its sustainability goals, the hospital is introducing the “Race to Zero Plastics Usage” initiative. This campaign encourages everyone to minimize the use of single-use plastics and other non-biodegradable materials such as plastic bags, food wrappers, cups, and styropor, reinforcing responsible consumption and environmental responsibility across the organization.
Another key initiative, “Go Beyond the Hour,” promotes energy conservation by encouraging employees in administrative and non-clinical offices to switch off non-essential lights and computers during lunch breaks. This simple yet impactful action supports energy efficiency and sustainable daily practices.
Chong Hua Hospital also continues to uphold its established waste management systems, ensuring consistent compliance with proper waste segregation and disposal practices as part of its organizational culture.
Through these ongoing Earth Day 2026 initiatives, Chong Hua Hospital strengthens its role not only as a healthcare provider but also as a committed advocate of environmental stewardship, where every action contributes to protecting and preserving the planet for future generations.
