Bone Mineral DensitometryBone Mineral Densitometry or DEXA (Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiotometry) Scan is an enhanced form of x-ray technology that is used to measure bone loss. This is often used to diagnose osteoporosis, a condition that often affects women after menopause but may also affect men. We have Equipments that best assesses the proper diagnosis of bone loss. We offer you safe and quality care with trained professional Radiologic Technologist and Certified Clinical Densitometrist to cater to your needs and give you the proper diagnosis to help aid your doctor in giving a proper treatment.
- You may eat normally on the day of the exam, but should not take calcium supplements for at least 24hours before your exam.
- Inform your doctor or the radiologic technologist if you recently had barium examination of have injected with a contrast material (dye) for a Computed Tomography (CT) and MRI scan or a radioisotope scan (e.g. bone scan). You may have to wait 10 to 14 days before undergoing a Bone Mineral Densitometry or DEXA exam.
- Remove any jewelry before the procedure.
You only need to secure a request from your doctor or an LOA (Letter of authorization) from your insurance company.
Have yourself registered at the information and secure a Chong Hua ID (if you have not yet been registered) if you’ve already been registered, proceed directly to our section.
Present your doctor’s request or LOA (Letter of Authorization) at the reception area for charging of the procedure. A priority number will be given to you.
You will be asked to fill out a form/s regarding the procedure that you will be undergoing.
Go to the cashier / billing section and present the charge slip that has been given to you for payment. If you have an LOA (Letter of Authorization), present it together with the charge slip that has been given to you for approval.
Go back to our section with the charge slip in hand and make sure it has a stamp of approval from the cashier / billing section.
Present the approved charge slip at our reception area. Take note of the priority number that was given to you earlier and wait for your turn to be called.
After your procedure has been performed, wait for the discharge instructions that will be given to you before leaving the procedure room.
