Coronary Care UnitThe Coronary Care Unit is composed of eight (8) beds, with two (2) beds (CCU 7 and CCU 8) Hemodialysis capable. The unit provides care for patients who suffer from a variety of critical cardiac conditions such as heart failure, myocardial infarction , severe dysrhythmias , cardiac arrest & Post-Cardiac Surgical Procedure (CABG - Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery, PCA - Patient-Controlled Analgesia)
The unit also houses the Cardiac Rehab Center that provides physical and cardiac rehabilitation post-cardiac surgery.
The CCU is staffed by highly trained critical care nurses specializing in adult intensive coronary care. All CCU nurses are trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and handle a maximum of one patient at a time to ensure that all patients needs are met. Nursing Aides are also available each shift to assist the nurses with their tasks, and a Senior Medical Resident and Cardiology Fellow is on duty at the area at all times.
The unit is located on the 2nd floor of Building B, near the 2nd floor elevators.
